Secondary Consultation and Clinical Supervision
Damien has provided supervision and secondary consultations to a range of community services for several years, this has included providing consultation to mental health services along with residential care providers.
It has been Damien’s experience that any effective supervision or consultation must occur in the context of a mutually respectful relationship whereby Damien will seek to understand the experiences of those seeking support/guidance prior to offering advice in how to potentially respond to a variety of difficulties. This process will also involve reflecting on the consultee/ supervisee’s strengths and identifying what skills/strategies the professional has utilised previously and ways in which to develop new skills relevant to their current dilemma.
Damien is a registered Clinical Supervisor with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
